Geographical location: Facing the summit of Mont Blanc in Haute-Savoie, the resort of Megève is a treasure trove for lovers of wide-open spaces, beauty and seclusion. This town is an hour’s drive from Geneva and 13 km from Sallanches railway station. Winter is the most magical time of the year.
A little history: The first tourists came to Megève in the 19th century. The village developed in small steps. The first ski competition was held in 1914. The arrival of architect Henry Jacques Le Même in the village marked a turning point in its architectural and cultural identity. In 1927, he built the first ‘Chalet-skiers for the Baronne de Rothschild, and as the wealthy clientele arrived in droves for their holidays, the resort grew by leaps and bounds, becoming a resort of international renown.

Restaurants: Megève is an ambassador for gastronomy. There are 89 restaurants in the resort, including 60 mountain restaurants, all with their own unique flavours: just like Michelin-starred restaurants and mountain restaurants.

Ski area : Evasion Mont Blanc links the following communes: Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Megève, Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce, Les Contamines-Montjoie, Combloux and La Giettaz.
